‘Quran Mubarak’ Novel Mushaf Unveiled at 31st Intl. Quran Fair

A novel Mushaf of the Quran with Persian Translation, that arranges verses based on their concepts, titled “Quran Mubarak” was unveiled at the 31st International Holy Quran Fair in Tehran on March 30, 2024.

The translation, organized thematically across 624 pages, maintains the sequence of surahs and verses with the page layout designed based on the topic and context of the verses.

Hossein Ostadwali’s scholarly and precise translation of the verses into Persian has been lauded by many experts and academics for its ability to clearly convey the divine revelations, while preserving the eloquence of the Persian language and staying true to the original text.

Addressing the ceremony, Ostadwali said: “The Holy Quran is the sacred book of Muslims. It possesses four distinct characteristics, three of which are unique to the Quran, and one that is common among all heavenly books. These three unique traits suggest that the Holy Quran is more comprehensive than all other holy books, as it encompasses and supersedes them. Hence, the Quran stands head of all other holy books.”

Another notable feature of the Holy Quran is the universality of its message, which is essential for everyone, regardless of whether they have received the proof or not, he said, adding that the Quran’s relevance extends to the entire world, signifying its comprehensiveness and omnipresence. Furthermore, the Quran is timeless, encompassing all humans across all eras and worlds.

“While a heavenly book might belong to people worldwide, it may be confined to a specific period, i.e., it is limited to the era when that religion is dominant, and no new religion has emerged. However, the Holy Quran is applicable to all times and places. This is because the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and there will be no prophet after him. Consequently, no other divine book will be revealed after the Holy Quran,” the prominent translator added.

The fourth characteristic of the Holy Quran, which is shared with all religions, is that every divine book is revealed in the language of its people. Since the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was sent to Arabia, the Holy Quran is in Arabic. Every prophet has communicated in the language of their region’s people, but this doesn’t mean the Quran is exclusive to that region. If a prophet were sent to Iran, their book would be in Persian and translated for people of different countries, he added.

Dr. Mahdi Fayz, one of the editors of the book, also addressed the ceremony, noting that the work related to this Mushaf spanned seven years.

“Ostadwali’s translation is beautifully complete and capable of conveying concise and accurate narratives,” he said, adding that in this translation, Osman Taha’s pagination has been surpassed, and the Quran’s translation has been approached from a fresh perspective. “Each surah is divided into a set of verses, and the verses are translated by topic and related verses.”

One of the features of this Mushaf is that each page is titled with a topic, and many of its pages are grouped into packages of seven or fourteen verses, naturally related to a specific topic, he added.

This content-based book is ideal for learning, understanding the Quran, and memorizing divine verses, stressed the scholar, adding that anyone who wishes to recite a page of the Quran daily with an accurate translation can utilize this Mushaf.
