Yemeni Ambassador to Iran Ebrahim Al-Dailami has pointed to the Quranic verses about resistance, wishing that Palestine would be liberated soon.
He made the
statement on Wednesday in a session titled “Quran and Resistance” that was held
on the sidelines of the 31st International Holy Quran Fair.
“We should look to
the Quran as our guide and adhere to God’s commands,” he said. “The Holy Prophet
(PBUH) expressed concern that the Ummah had neglected the Quran. Especially
during Ramadan, the Islamic community should not neglect the Quran.”
He said that he was
“deeply moved” when seeing huge crowds of people visiting the exhibition.
The jihad taking
place in Iraq, Yemen, Palestine, and Iran is rooted in the Quran’s teachings,
the ambassador said, adding, according to a verse in the Quran, Jihad is a duty
that must be fulfilled. “God is aware of those who partake in Jihad, and the
path to Jihad is always open.”
Jihad can take many
forms, including media engagement, standing against the Israeli regime, and
voicing support for Palestine, he added.
“Why aren’t Muslims
rising up against Israel and America, or boycotting Israeli goods? Is it
because they can’t afford to stop buying these goods?” he asked, adding, “Anyone
who aids or supports Israel in any way contributes to the killing of the
Palestinian people.”
God willing, Quds
and Palestine will be liberated by the most honorable individuals, Dailami
added.
The Quranic verses
that advocate for resistance and Jihad are well-established and powerful, he
said.
“As we are in the
month of the Quran, we should not wait for anyone to initiate Jihad and should
move towards the resistance and liberation of Palestine,” he said.
The 31st International Holy Quran Fair opened its doors at
Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla on March 20, welcoming visitors to a spiritual
and cultural journey that coincides with the Nowruz holidays.
The exhibition, which will run until April 2, invites enthusiasts
to explore its offerings daily from 5:00 PM to 00:30 AM local time.
A key highlight of the exhibition is its family-friendly
atmosphere, ensuring a welcoming space for all ages.
Additionally, the fair has arranged for Iftar tables to be
set up, providing a communal space for visitors to break their fast.
The fair features various Quranic institutions and governmental
bodies, as well as international participants from 25 countries. The also
highlights the issues of Gaza and Palestine and the role of the Quran in
inspiring resistance.
The fair aims to familiarize people with Quranic concepts
through artistic, cultural, and theatrical mediums, especially for children and
teenagers. It also offers sections on artificial intelligence, Nahj
al-Balaghah, Quranic research and consultation, Quran translation, and easy
Quran memorization.
