Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili has stressed the commitment of the Islamic Republic to promoting the Holy Quran.
“The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to nurturing and disseminating Quranic knowledge,” he said while addressing the opening ceremony of the 31st International Holy Quran Fair at Tehran’s Mosalla on Wednesday.
Entering the fourth decade of hosting the Quran exhibition, there were initial concerns that coinciding with Nowruz might impact attendance, he said, pointing to his stress on making the exhibition a unifying space for the faithful from Tehran and beyond and showcasing Quran-related products and art.
Slamming a series of Quran desecrations in a few Western states, the minister hailed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s defending the Quran during his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
He said that holding Quranic fairs in 30 provinces reflects the ministry’s aim to share the essence of the Quran nationwide.
Alongside the main event, a series of comprehensive programs will emphasize Quranic education, including proper recitation and memorization, he added.
The Quran continues to be a beacon of hope and resilience, as seen in Gaza's steadfast resistance amidst six months of brutal Zionist regime’s brutal attacks, said the minister.
He also paid a visit to different sections of the exhibition.
The 31st International Holy Quran Fair opened its doors at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla this afternoon, welcoming visitors to a spiritual and cultural journey that coincides with the Nowruz holidays.
The exhibition, which will run until April 2, invites enthusiasts to explore its offerings daily from 5:00 PM to 00:30 AM.
A key highlight of the exhibition is its family-friendly atmosphere, ensuring a welcoming space for all ages.
Additionally, the fair has arranged for Iftar tables to be set up, providing a communal space for visitors to break their fast together following the Maghrib and Isha prayers, further fostering a sense of community and shared experience during this blessed month.
The fair features various Quranic institutions and governmental bodies, as well as international participants from 25 countries. The also highlights the issues of Gaza and Palestine and the role of the Quran in inspiring resistance.
The fair aims to familiarize people with Quranic concepts through artistic, cultural, and theatrical mediums, especially for children and teenagers. It also offers sections on artificial intelligence, Nahj al-Balaghah, Quranic research and consultation, Quran translation, and easy Quran memorization.
